Volunteer
Races don't magically run themselves. We need a whole host of volunteers to help on the day and ensure that we can put on the race. It's your chance to give back to the running community, your local community and the worth charities that we support.

There are a large number of roles that we need to fill. These include:
-
Helping set up the race village before the event and tidying up afterwards
-
Registering the runners and handing out their race packs
-
Managing the bag drop, so the runners have somewhere to leave their kit
-
Being out on the course, ensuring the runners go the right way, offering them encouragement and ensuring the safety of everyone involved
-
Helping with car park marshalling
-
Helping in the finsh area, giving out medals, water and snacks
-
Helping at a water station
Even if you are unable to help on the actual day, there are plenty of other jobs that we need to carry out, such as putting up posters and notices, making sure the course route is free of obstructions and setting up the course on the saturday before the event.
On the day of the event, we ask marshals to be available from 8:45 for the kids race and 9:00 if just helping marshall the main 10K event. Everything should be done and dusted by about midday!

If you'd like to help out then please email Chris Turner, our Lead Marshall at thatcham10k@skipoles.co.uk. Please provide your name, details of your availability and any specific role you would be happy/prefer to perform. We will try our best to accomodate all requirements. Thank you.
